Our Story
Lakefront Films is the evolution of what was once known as LC Weddings—a name trusted by couples for over a decade. Led by husband-and-wife filmmakers Derek and Sarah, Lakefront Films was born from years of capturing candid wedding stories and from celebrating a lakefront wedding of our own.
Life since then has been full and beautifully busy. We’ve traveled across North America with a toddler and our two golden retrievers in tow, and are now excitedly expecting again. During this period, we made the intentional decision to step back from weddings and focus on family. At the same time, Derek continued working on set across commercial projects, documentaries, narrative television, and feature films.
